About a year ago I
began searching for a martial arts school for my son Alex. While I knew
I wanted him to experience the discipline and character building that
the arts have to offer I did not expect much more. You see, I have had
much experience in the martial arts over the years. Not only did I
train in Tae kwon do but I also cross trained and did full contact
sparring with peers in Ishin Ryu style karate, Kung fu and other Asian
arts. I stopped studying the martial arts many years ago because I
became frustrated with the lack of real world practicality. Time and
again I witnessed supposed “experienced” martial artists loose to those
with more “street smarts”.
When I was considering
enrolling my son I was also given the opportunity to try out a free
class. I had expected it to be just like every other watered down school
I have visited prior to this. Well, all I can say is that the Sekai team
convinced me! The styles and techniques that Sekai has blended together
create a seamless, real world martial discipline. The instructors really
know how to break down techniques to make them easy to remember and just
as important how and when to apply them correctly. This is what was
always missing in all the other schools and disciplines I have tried in
the past. Those fancy jumping, flying, spinning kicks just don’t work!
Obviously
impressed I not only enrolled my son, who is doing fantastic but my wife
and I are also now part of the Sekai team and we cant wait for our
youngest to turn 5 so he can begin his journey down the path you have
placed before us. I have learned more skills that can actually be applied
in the last year than I did in over 6 years of training prior to joining
Sekai. I am in the best shape of my life and I have met some great people
that I truly consider close friends because of the tie that binds
us….

I joined Sekai looking to learn another form of
grappling. Sekai has not only improved my wrestling
techniques but also gave me a whole new world to explore. Sekai has even
improved my everyday life by promoting good thought and organization. I
am very glad I joined Sekai and hope to further my experiences there.

I wanted to write a letter to let you know how much I am enjoying the fitness kickboxing classes that Sekai Martial Arts has added to their schedule. I've tried other types of exercise in the past and this is the best by far. It's a great combination of workouts - aerobic exercise and resistance training, with self defense thrown in . I really look forward to coming to class - it's fun and relieves the stress after a long day at work. There is nothing like kicking or punching something to get things off your mind. I feel better when I leave the class than when I arrive. My stamina has increased and I'm much stronger than when I started. You and Michelle come up with some great routines for us and class is never boring - every class is different which really helps keep me interested and motivated. And Eric thinks it's great that his mom knows how to do roundhouse kicks now, just like he does during his Junior Ninja classes.
Keep up the great work!

Sensei Gable -
First off, let me bow to you...thank you for providing me a wonderful program!
When I was looking for a self-defense class, your web site kept coming back to me. I knew this was going to be the one. I knew the evening Mr. Daren had set up an appointment for me to observe, I was going to join. I am so glad I did. I feel so different about life. What positive energy your classes reflect to me. I am not only treating my body right, but acquiring a sense of assuredness as I am a single female and live alone. I have confidence like never before. Just the mindset, the discipline and
comradery of all your staff. WOW! I can't think of enough adjectives to describe it.
I was telling a friend of mine that I was taking a Martial Arts class. He asked which one. When I told him Jiu-jitsu - his comment was that "You are taking the best of the best. You couldn't ask for a better class. Once you master those holds, escapes and techniques...boy...I'm telling you, you picked a good one!" I felt so proud after hearing that. And couldn't wait to come to class that evening!
I told you the first time I met you that I want to be your success story, as I believe I am the oldest member in your class. I am working toward that goal and WILL reach it, especially with you and your staff's help. Another thing that I walk away with every evening upon leaving your classroom is respect. I have learned so much more respect from taking your class.
Thank you again Sensei!

"Mr. Eric Gable,
Several weeks ago my youngest son Joey joined your Sekai Martial School at the Arena Club in Churchville. Since that time we noticed a positive change in his attitude & demeanor. He is starting to show signs of leadership & confidence. Having spent time studying the martial arts myself I knew that it would be a good influence overall & a great way to build character & respect. We are pleased with the performance of the instructors who are courteous, respectful, & attentive. They make the learning process fun. I can say with absolute certainty that Josh, Lenny, Daren & other instructors are positive role models for our son. They are all doing a great job!! "
"....My son Joey looks up to them & the message they teach. He fully understands that the martial arts run deeper than grappling, kicking, & punching. Joey will continue to work hard & do his best to reflect Sekai's good name..."
Thank you

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and the other members of the Martial Arts Demonstration team for their willingness to come and provide a martial arts demonstration for our eighth-grade students. The students were in awe of the skill and discipline required for this art..... The self-discipline, self-esteem building and focus on academics is a positive force in promoting student achievement.
I look forward to working with your team of instructors to provide opportunities for some of our students next year to be a part of a great initiative. Thank you again for agreeing to come and to assist us with trying to make a positive difference in the lives of some of our students."
Sincerely,
Gladys Pace

“Through hard work and dedication, Sekai has shown me what it means to be a champion. Sekai is truly a God sent blessing.”
"I must admit that five months ago when I went to my introductory class at Sekai, I was a bit apprehensive. I took one look at everyone in class and thought to myself Yeah right, like I could ever do that. Well I'm glad that I put my apprehensions aside and decided to give it a chance because it ended up being the best thing that I have ever done for myself. Sekai is a school that specializes in teaching Jiu-jitsu, but that is not all that you get when you become a student. Since starting I have not only gained skills to defend myself, but also confidence, better mental alertness and a much-improved attitude. The staff at Sekai, while maintaining a high level of professionalism, is more like a family. Every member of the school, whether they are a staff member or student, is very welcoming and friendly. Each person wants nothing more than to see others achieve their goals both physically and personally. They facilitate each persons needs by providing individual as well as group support, discipline and a constructive environment. It's a great feeling when all you have surrounding you are positive, encouraging and supportive people. I can honestly say that joining Sekai was just what I needed. In a few short months my life has changed for the better, and I feel confident in knowing that this positive change will continue."
